Slane Castle is located in Ireland, near the village of Slane in the picturesque Boyne Valley, County Meath. Built in the 18th century, it originally served as the ancestral seat of the Marquess Conynghamβs family.
The castle has gained renown for the music events regularly held on its grounds. In 2004, the Irish media noted: "Slane has now become an internationally recognized concert venue capable of attracting stars of Madonna's caliber." The natural amphitheater formed by the gentle slopes surrounding the castle can accommodate up to 80,000 spectators.
